We aren't sure of many plurality labels, so we will likely just explain each aspect of our plurality. In the way of consciousness we have all got seperate consciousnesses. When the body is awake we are all conscious at once, we can't "go to sleep" very easily in back. When we are at the back we can either be paying attention, and usually communicating with the fronter or we can not pay attention and be in headspace.
Our system of memory is unlike anything we've heard from other systems, we remember when we are in front or paying attention whilst in back, but if we are in headspace we will only really remember headspace during that time period. However we can choose to share memories if we want. This is how we can rememeber things that happened to a past headmate.
When we are in front we feel very much present and in control of the body, we rarely get blended or cofronted. We can however experience something we've called "Shrodinger's headmate" (There's probably a name already) where until asked or thought about it we can't tell exactly who we are. This usually happens immediatly before, during or immediatly after a switch. there seem to be three types of switches we can expirience: We switch naturally every hour or so (unless we choose not to), these sitches are usually a slowish handing over of front that takes about 5 minutes for either headmate to feel completely there or completely gone. We can also can choose to switch by the fronter offering and someone accepting. We've been told that from the outside it just looks like we zone out for 30 seconds or so. Or the last (and worse) switch is what we have named a "Slam switch" where someone will be fronted and then there is a very quick switch to another. We cant tell when this will happen and it is very jarring and disorientating for both headmates involved.
Headmates in our system dont seem to have any specific roles. We all just sort of exist and do stuff. Headmates come and go, we are all endogens right now, meaning that we have no fictional origin, but we have had introjects before so it is possible for us. Some of our headmates do feel like thay came from somewhere but have no idea where and dont have any memories (this most applies to Bella, she came the instant a previous headmate, Ixi, left and was very frightened and disorienated by now being plural, in a new body thats 8 years older than herself and was concerned that she couldn't remember anything, shes fine now though). Headmates seem to emerge through either the brain decideing they should exist and them slowly coming to fruicion over a number of days, a headmate made through tuplamacy, or by more individual and odder circumstances. They leave in two ways, they either slowly lose thier individual traits and sort of merge into other headmates, or the exact opposite, thier traits get heightened as me goes on and they spiral ito becoming an amplified version of themselves and usually go mad. When that happens the brain decides its had enough and removes the headmate.
We don't really have a concrete answer for our origin as a system, nor an exact moment we realised we were a system. We are pretty sure we were a singlet at some point but at some point during June or July 2025 the original developed the first headmate, Duke. We think the original had a disposition to be plural, from what we can remember (not much) she had something system-esque going on, closest thing I've seen on pluralpedia is "faucets" raher than full headmates. The exact reason that Duke developed is unknown, we think it had something to do with the awful place the original was mentally. But as I say we have no idea, the memories are so far away now, like a game of chinese whispers, the original left, a new system developed, that system left, leaving just Duke and Ixi, Duke left afterwards then Ixi left too. So originwise we are... meh.
Nearly eveerything mentioned above has exceptions with certain headmates (cough cough, Fae Cough cough/silly) So for those we will list hear quickly:
Conciousness: Fae is an exception, she is mainly non communicative (We're working on this) and isn't concious when we are and vice versa.
Memories: Since we can't communicate with Fae for more than a minute or so after she stops or starts fronting, and only one of us can communicate at a time, our memory sharing doesnt work with her, she only rememebers when she fronts and we can't remember when she does.
Fronting & Switching: Again Fae is again different for reasons explained above.
Those are all the exeptions I can think of (for now)
